This project brings together students from around the world who are eager to gain and share knowledge in the field of practical civil engineering. The central theme of the summer school focuses on practical construction techniques and principles, and it includes the following topics:
– Construction Management: Best practices for planning, executing, and overseeing construction projects.
– Materials Science: An exploration of various construction materials, their properties, applications, and sustainability.
– Structural Engineering: Evaluation of completed projects, analysis and selection of the best solutions for practical implementation, as well as verification of structures during the execution of construction works to ensure safety and efficiency.
– Environmental Engineering: Techniques for minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainability in construction.
– Site Safety and Regulations: Understanding safety protocols and legal regulations governing construction sites.
– Innovative Construction Methods: The latest trends and technologies in construction.
– Temporary Traffic Signage Projects: Planning and implementing temporary traffic signage on construction sites.
– Laboratory Testing during Construction Works: Implementing laboratory tests and conducting quality control of materials designated in the project for installation, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
Join us for this enriching experience, where you will not only enhance your technical skills but also build lasting connections with fellow students from diverse backgrounds!
The scientific part comprises lectures, interactive seminars, practical skills, and daily cases. Every student can renew and expand their knowledge and master new skills. On the final day, a certificate of attendance will be handed to each participant at a closing ceremony.
The number of participants is limited to 35 per group to achieve a better quality of work in small groups using an individual approach.
Our Program
- Lectures and Practical Skills: Begin with comprehensive lectures on cutting-edge civil engineering concepts, followed by practical sessions to apply this knowledge to real-world scenarios.
- Workshop: Bridge Design and Analysis: Focused on complex structures, this workshop guides participants through the intricacies of modern bridge design, emphasizing precision, safety, and innovation.
- Workshop: Advanced Geotechnical Engineering: Dive into geotechnical techniques applicable to challenging terrains, ensuring proficiency in soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
- Workshop: Earthquake Engineering: Engage in specialized training on designing structures that withstand seismic activities, enhancing skills in one of the most critical areas of civil engineering.
- Workshop: Sustainable Urban Development: Conclude with advanced practices in sustainable design, offering hands-on experience in creating environmentally friendly and efficient infrastructures.
SOCIAL PROGRAM
We have decided to the social program to visit some parts of Montenegro. We are not a large country but, believe us, 8 days are too short to see everything you need to see when you come here, so we have chosen a couple of tours to scratch the surface of everything.
Students usually visit a few places and enjoy the sea and mountains of Montenegro. Here are some sites that you will see through the Social program.
*Please note that the registration fee does not include social program and other individual trips.
We want to point out that the timeline on the agenda could be changed, and the final one will be sent to you 30 days before your arrival.
ACCOMMODATION
I would like to give you some information about your place of lodging. You will be placed in the same student flat, hotel, or hostel near the venue where you will have lectures and workshops. It is also a 15-20 min walk from the city center. More information about accommodation will be provided 30 days before EMSS starts.
